Trump's Wall-Eyed view for protecting the safety of American's is blind to reality. If one looks inward rather than outward to domestic threats vs. foreign threats, the real menace for the safety of Americans is internal. Foreign terrorists pose a very small threat to Americans. Between 10 to 20 thousand people are killed by drunk drivers every year. Therefore, approximately 170,000 to 340,000 Americans have died on our roadways since 9/11. During the same period of time under 100 Americans were killed in the US by foreign terrorists. A considerably greater number of Americans die from opiate addiction, heart and lung disease, cancer, alcohol related maladies, guns and many other life-threatening risks.
Spending 25 billion on a wall is misguided if saving American lives is the incentive for building the wall strategy. It would be better to put this money to work keeping impaired drivers off of our roads, funding medical research, keeping our environment clean, reducing gun deaths along with the many other much more significant risks to the lives of US citizens.
